Cisco Meraki, the leader in Cloud management, has an easy to use dashboard where you can manage all your Meraki network devices, MX Firewalls, MS Switches, MR Access Point and MV Cameras.
Cisco Umbrella the leader in cloud security uses DNS, the foundation of the internet, to block Malware, Phishing, and Ransomware C2 callbacks.
These two cloud solutions have now joined forces by integrating the Umbrella Security Policies and the Meraki MR Access Point SSID or group policy. Now IT admins have a more secure and simpler way to configure and protect their users, by applying Umbrella policies directly in the Meraki Dashboard.
This is done via an Umbrella Network Devices API key. This key is generated on the Umbrella Dashboard and then copied to the Meraki Dashboard. An API is an application program interface (API) with code that allows two software programs to communicate with each other. Once this is done Meraki MR SSID or group policies can be linked to Umbrella’s security policy.
